Company

JPJ-Wood Oy is a private, family-run sawmill located in the municipality of Juupajoki in the Pirkanmaa region

JPJ-Wood Oy was founded in 1994. At that time, a 32-pocket log sorter was built in the area. The following year, a 40 pocket dimension sorter/grading plant with descending bases were completed. Back then, our wood was sawn by a rented saw on wheels.

In 1997, a fixed hewsaw line was completed, as well as a debarking plant in the same building. The same year, the first six kiln chambers were also completed.

In 1998, a 5 MW bark burning plant, co-owned by JPJ-Wood Oy and the municipality of Juupajoki, was completed.

In 1999, the kiln enlargement was completed. Four chambers were added.

In the spring of 2002, a new office was built.

In 2006, the sticking machine was automated.

In the fall of 2007, JPJ-Wood Oy started carrying out the biggest investment plan in its history.

In the beginning of 2008, two automatic progressive kilns were completed. A new 60-pocket log sorter was completed early in the fall of the same year.

Late in the fall of 2008, we stopped and disassembled the old saw line. We renewed the saw’s log feed as well as the debarking plant, screening station, lower floor of the sawmill, and saw line. Furthermore, we modernised the sawn timber sorting plant.

During the spring of 2009, the new saw line was taken into use.
